Centenary Garden Party at Buckingham Palace
2nd June 2015

A day to remember......

5 ladies were lucky enough to attend the Centenary Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.  The day started wet and windy, by the time our luxury coach  had reached the Palace the rain had gone but the wind still blew, sending several hats rolling across the lawn.  8,000 ladies, with or without hats, in fashions ranging from the beautiful to the bizarre, descended on the lawn to await the Royal party, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall,  Sophie, Countess of Wessex,  Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra.  Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, greeted and shook the hand of Eunice who managed to get to the front of the avenue of ladies stretching from the Palace to the Royal Enclosure.  Afternoon tea, served on an oblong plate, dainty sandwiches (including cucumber and mint), savouries and bite sized cakes, washed down with tea, iced coffee or soft drink, was available all afternoon.
